The Department of Macromolecular Science & Engineering at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) is soliciting applications multiple faculty positions for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 academic years at the rank of assistant professor. All areas of polymer science & engineering will be considered, but candidates working in areas of: applications of computational techniques and polymer theory, responsive and multifunctional soft materials, mechanics, and related areas of polymer engineering and physics are especially encouraged to apply.  Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Polymer Science/Engineering, or a closely-related field.  Applications should include a cover letter, full CV, concise statements of research (4 pages) and teaching (1 page), and a list of at least three individuals who can be contacted for letters of recommendation.  Complete applications should be sent via email as a single PDF to Ms. Charlotte Foster (charlotte.foster@case.edu) with the subject line “Macro faculty openings.” Applications will be considered beginning April 15, 2018, but evaluation and recruitment of candidates will continue until all positions are filled.  

The Department of Macromolecular Science & Engineering (polymers.case.edu), founded 55 years ago, is the home for 14 faculty, and over 200 B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. students, operating in a research intensive and highly collegial team. CWRU is located in the beautiful University Circle neighborhood of Cleveland Ohio, home of internationally famous music, art and historical institutions, as well as a lively restaurant scene.
