The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware (UD) seeks a Manager for the Departmental High-Throughput Experimentation (HTE) Facility. This newly established facility will house cutting-edge instrumentation for HTE for chemical synthesis and catalysis, including air-sensitive and high-pressure conditions, and will become a resource across the UD campus and the mid-Atlantic region.
We seek a highly motivated leader to establish the broad capabilities of this facility and its utility to a wide range of researchers. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and trouble-shooting instrumentation; training and supervising student users and assistants; collaborating with researchers in the design, implementation, and interpretation of high-throughput experiments; assisting in the preparation of proposals for new equipment; and supporting the growth of the facility by promoting its capabilities to researchers at UD and other regional institutions. The candidate will be expected to maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art HTE technology and equipment. Candidates must have a MS in Organic, Organometallic, or Inorganic Chemistry (PhD preferred), demonstrated expertise in organic and organometallic reaction methodology, working knowledge of appropriate analytical tools (GC/MS, HPLC/MS, SFC/MS, NMR, etc.), and an eagerness to learn and innovate in the area of HTE methodology.
