A Post-Doctoral Research Associate position is available at the Chemistry Department of the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
The project involves fundamental mechanistic and kinetic studies of catalytic chain transfer in the cationic polymerization of isobutylene. (See Macromolecules 2011, 44, 1831, 2012, 45, 3318, 2012, 45, 8598, Polymer 2013, 54, 4858, Macromolecules 2014, 47(6), 1959-1965. )
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry or a related field, and demonstrated experience in organic/polymer chemistry and in polymer characterization (GPC, NMR, FTIR, etc.) as evidenced by a strong publication record in peer reviewed journals. Familiarity with organometallic chemistry and inert atmosphere technique is desirable. Independence, creativity and excellent oral and written communication skills are also essential.
