Post Doctoral Researcher

A postdoctoral appointment is available for an interdisciplinary joint project with the Ng, Gilberston, and Khanna groups at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. We seek a highly motivated scientist or engineer for a unique opportunity to conduct research at the intersection of chemistry, biology and network science. We are investigating potential risks associated with novel membranes for water treatment through an innovative combination of quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSARs), reaction pathway prediction, and networks analysis.

The successful applicant will possess a PhD in chemical engineering, computational chemistry, chemo- or bioinformatics, or related fields, have an excellent academic record, and work well in a collaborative research environment. We are looking for applicants with experience and interest in fields such as data science, statistics, organic chemistry, and/or complex systems.

Fluency in English (written and oral) is required. Excellent scientific writing skills, the ability to organize data and clearly disseminate your findings and scientific concepts are essential.

The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility for extension. The start date is flexible, with a preference for candidates ready to begin in a July – September time frame. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
