Postdoc Opening in the Dave C. Swalm School of Chemical Engineering at Mississippi State University

 

 

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Soft Materials Laboratory (http://kundu.che.msstate.edu/) led by Dr. Santanu Kundu. The successful candidate will perform synthesis and characterization of novel polymeric materials having applications in membranes, optoelectronic devices, biomaterials, and polymer composites.  

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering, polymer/materials science, chemistry, or a related discipline. Experience in multi-step polymer synthesis is required. The successful applicant is also expected to have experience in structural (SEM, TEM, SAXS) and mechanical (tensile testing, DMA, rheology) characterization of polymeric/soft materials. Expertise in nanomaterials fabrication and characterization will be beneficial.

The postdoctoral associate position is a full-time, benefits-eligible 12-month basis appointment. The initial appointment is for one year with a possibility of extension based on the performance and the availability of funding.
