A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Prof. Jason E. Bara (http://jbara.eng.ua.edu) in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Alabama. The project will focus on the design, synthesis and performance of advanced polymer materials and their application in energy-related technologies. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or chemistry with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: small molecule synthesis, ionenes, condensation polymers, UHP and HP polymers, membranes/fuel cells/batteries, ionic liquids, polymer and small molecule characterization techniques.
A second postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Prof. C. Heath Turner (https://turnerresearchgroup.ua.edu/). This project will focus on the simulation of polymers produced by Prof. Bara’s group as well as chemical reactions in ionic liquids. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or chemistry with demonstrated experience in molecular simulations of polymers, ionic liquids, small molecules and reactive systems.
The positions will be available in August 2019 with a term of one year and may be extended for an additional year based on satisfactory performance.
