Research Scientist – Assay Integration (CytoChip Inc. – Irvine, CA)
 
About You: This position is in charge of developing biochemistry assay on an innovative microfluidic platform for in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) applications. Responsibilities include but not limit to:
• Develop biochemistry assays for detecting proteins or other biomarkers in human blood samples;
• Optimize integration of assays with microfluidics to achieve target performance.
• Perform bench tests, analyze test data, formulate assay recipes and source vendors for assay materials. Document experiments and study results.
 
Qualifications:
• Integrity, self-motivation and teamwork spirit in a startup environment.
• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biophysics or related majors; or M.S. with 3+ years’ industrial experiences.
• Experiences of developing biochemistry assays or other analytical assays are needed.
• Experiences of working with protein detection assays (e.g. ELISA, immunoassays, etc.) are preferred.
• Experiences of working with particles-based or beads-based assays (e.g. immunoturbidity assay, flow cytometer assays, etc.) are preferred.
• Experiences of working with analytical tools (e.g. flow cytometry, spectroscope, HPLC, etc.) for quantitative analysis are preferred.
• Experiences of working with blood samples, and/or understanding of commercial assay performance and FDA regulatory requirement are welcome.
• Experiences of working with quality system regulated R&D projects are welcome.
 
This position is considered a key member of the R&D team. The position level, salary and stock compensation are based on experiences. Sponsorship for H1B visa and/or green card could be available. CytoChip is an equal opportunity employer, and offers a positive and dynamic work environment.

It uses finger blood to deliver multiple diagnostic panels that covers 75% tests ordered by doctors. With a proprietary microfluidic technology, the product provides accurate results with quick access and low cost, enabling accurate diagnosis for scenarios where central laboratory solutions are not available.
