Tenure Track Position in Biochemistry - Monmouth College

Monmouth College, a private, liberal arts college located in western Illinois, announces a new tenure-track position in Biochemistry. Required: a PhD in Biochemistry or related field (completion by August 2020) with experience in neuroscience, broadly defined. The candidate will be expected to contribute to a new major in Neuroscience, along with a new tenure line in the Biology Department and current faculty within the Psychology Department. Teaching duties will include a foundational chemistry class (such as general chemistry) and advanced courses in the area of the candidate's specialty (such as biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, pharmacology, or neurotoxicology) that contribute to the chemistry, biochemistry, and neuroscience majors. The candidate will be expected to establish a research program compatible with an undergraduate liberal arts environment with projects related to neuroscience.

The Monmouth College Chemistry Department is an ACS approved department, has an endowed summer research program, and has an endowment that allows faculty and students to travel annually to national meetings.
