Tenure Track Position - Drake University

Assistant Professor of Chemistry - 999709

The Chemistry Department at Drake University invites applications for tenure-track assistant professor, beginning August 2018 in the area of biochemistry. A Ph.D. in biochemistry or related field is required, with postdoctoral experience preferred.  Outstanding applicants will demonstrate strong interest in teaching and potential to establish an active research program at the undergraduate level. Candidates are expected to teach general chemistry and lower and upper division courses in biochemistry. Drake University has an ACS-certified chemistry major, a biochemistry/molecular biology major, and a biophysics concentration.  A complete application must include a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, a two-page summary of research plans, a statement of teaching philosophy, three letters of recommendation, and the names and contact information for at least two additional references.   Questions may be directed by email to Maria Bohorquez, the search chair, at maria.bohorquez@drake.edu.
