The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for one or more tenure-track positions in materials synthesis and characterization. We anticipate hiring at the rank of Assistant Professor, although exceptionally qualified candidates at the rank of Associate Professor will also be considered. Candidates with research interests in all areas of materials chemistry, but especially organic materials, are encouraged to apply. Candidates are asked to provide a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a detailed research plan, and a statement of teaching philosophy and interests.  Junior candidates should also arrange for the submission of at least three letters of recommendation; senior candidates are welcome to apply in confidence.  All materials should be submitted to the application website (https://apply.interfolio.com/65868).  Applications will be considered on a rolling basis upon receipt but must be received by October 1st, 2019 to receive full consideration.

The University of Notre Dame seeks to attract, develop, and retain the highest quality faculty, staff and administration.  The University is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and is committed to building a culturally diverse workplace.  We strongly encourage applications from female and minority candidates, veterans and individuals with disabilities, and those candidates attracted to a university with a Catholic identity.
