Two Tenure Track Assistant Professors Positions - Centre College

Centre College invites applications for two tenure track assistant professors—one in Analytical Chemistry and one in Physical Chemistry—beginning August 2017.  Centre College has a strong tradition of excellence in the sciences; the chemistry program is ACS approved. The chemistry program has a history of supporting the biochemistry and molecular biology program, environmental studies program, study abroad and the general education curriculum at Centre.  The program encourages applications from candidates who have experience in teaching and mentoring a diverse student body with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion.

 

For both positions, teaching responsibilities will include lecture and laboratory instruction for introductory courses and advanced courses within the respective sub-discipline and opportunities to develop an advanced elective and/or contribute to the College’s first-year studies program.  Research with undergraduates is expected and supported.  A Ph.D. is required; candidate must have completed the requirements for the degree by the time of the appointment.
